    Toshika KosakoPlanner & Managing Director

    Toshika is a Japan-born-Chinese producer who is passionate about shaping better communication. Growing up in Japan as an "invisible minority," she understands firsthand the importance of diverse perspectives and meaningful storytelling. Since receiving her MA in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, Toshika has made her mark as a both a UX designer and producer, working with top brands/organizations including Nike, Shiseido, and the World Economic Forum. Her love for digital storytelling and human experience has earned her recognition as a Forbes Japan 30 Under 30 and awwwards 2023 jury member.

  • Mei Kanamoto
    Mei KanamotoArt Director

    Mei is an art director and illustrator known for her vibrant and playful multimedia work. Born in Japan, raised in Thailand, and educated in New York (Parsons School of Design), she learned about multiculturalism and versatility at an early age. Today, she stands out in her ability to adapt to various styles, mediums, and cultures. Her notable work includes the New York Metropolitan Opera's winter holiday campaign, "Holiday Magic at the Met" as well as campaigns for Shiseido's biggest brands. Additionally, she's shown her art at numerous exhibitions across the US and Asia.

    Georgi RobertsProducer

    Georgi has been at the heart of some of monopo's most defining work and global expansion. She has a passion for bridging cultures; to date, her career in commercial production has spanned across Cape Town, London, Tokyo, and New York. At monopo Tokyo, she built up the global account department, managed 360° campaigns for large international brands, and helped Japanese brands communicate with a wider demographic. In 2019, she supported the launch of monopo's first international branch in London and today, she is a key member of the growing team here in NYC. Her challenge: seek out the most unique opportunities, and create something fundamentally new, every time.

Founded in Tokyo in 2011, By two bassists.

monopo was founded in Tokyo in 2011 as a digital design agency. Yoshi and Shun, both bass players, felt that the digital space was losing its groove. It was creating characterless brands. Anonymous businesses + A sea of sameness / Together with a collective of artists and engineers, they set up monopo to bring personality back to brands.
